I try to keep the language on my comics relatively clean. So far, my policy is "if it is in the Bible or was clean enough to air on television in the '90s, it's clean enough for this comic." Thanks to the Bible, I receive quite a bit of leeway since I can use "ass," "bastard," and "Philistine" without fear of being consumed by divine flames. I should expand my religious texts to include some other faiths, because I'm pretty sure I can pick up some tasty insults from Greek mythology. Like calling someone Spawn of Koalemos, the personification of stupidity. Or a Zeus-swan-bastard.
I will never know why the Queen of the Spartans decided to have sex with a swan. The next time I'm near a woman, I'll try to bring it up casually in conversation and try to glean some insights of the female psyche. If you happen to be a woman reading this, slide into my DMs and let me know why you would bang a swan.
But being able to casually drop "tramp" in this comic is largely thanks to Samurai Pizza Cats. In Episode 29, No Talent Guido, one of the characters is able to get away with saying, "It's super sexy, alright! Tramp." Now by modern television standards it doesn't seem like much, but in the '90's, it was the type of line that someone could only get away with in an obscure anime that played at 5:30 am on public access. In retrospect, that show was able to get away with a lot of funny lines that were surprisingly risqué for a show tailored to kids. I should probably check it out again. Hopefully, something I found hilarious at the age of eight will still be funny to me in my 30s.
Who am I kidding? It'll probably be funnier than ever because while I may not have matured, I have arguably become more intelligent. So now I can get all of the raunchy jokes discretely slid into my childhood animes.
